The Palmtronic LC-81M is a pocket calculator of the early 80s manufactured by the Canon Corporation of Japan. This is a basic calculator with square root and percentage functions, which businesspersons would use. It has a high quality yellow liquid crystal display (LCD) manufactured by the Epson Corporation. These yellow display panels were extremely clear with better contrast and very popular at one time.
It has the T3709 single chip calculator solution manufactured by the Toshiba Corporation. This was an extremely popular integrated circuit (IC) due to its low power consumption.
It has a brushed aluminium front case, and coloured plastic keys. It still looks like a very smart and useable product even today.

The Palmtronic range was mass produced and very popular in Australia one time. They are starting to become rare and a collector’s item. You can have every calculator in the world, but if you do not have this one, then your collection is not complete.
A vintage calculator in working condition might fetch a few pounds in an auction. However if it is in mint condition with the box and accessories, then it could fetch considerably more.
