Television Chipset

This 5.5-inch black and white TV with AM/FM Radio has a very interesting collection of chips. Although the use of IC varies considerably in television design, I like the idea of a single chip television solution. The photograph above shows the CD5151CP single chip television solution. Widely used and manufactured by many, it had different names such as AN5151 and the KA2915.

Single Chip Radio

The CD2003GP was a single chip AM/FM radio solution used in a wide range of consumer electronics products. For radio electronics enthusiasts this is an excellent chip for building a radio project because it required very few external components.

Ferrite Rod and AM Coil

Here is a ready-made ferrite rod with AM coil. This could turn out to be useful for crystal radio projects.

Tuning Capacitor

The radio and TV functions share the same rotary tuning control. This is very interesting because the TV tuner and the radio share the tuning capacitor.
