As you can see, this AM/FM pocket radio kit is based on the clone IC CD9088CB, and also uses the TA7642 IC to achieve AM reception. In this design, the TDA2822 (IC3) is used for audio amplification. This particular IC works very well with radio applications and has high quality performance. I was using it many years ago for my radio projects, and had nearly forgotten about it until I saw it here again!
