Hitachi Music Centres -- July 1979

A Music Centre was an audio entertainment console that usually consisted of a turntable record player, tape deck, and radio tuner. These devices usually had a built-in amplifier and sometimes came packaged with a pair of speakers and stands. Today, they are highly desirable amongst vinyl enthusiasts and hi-fi collectors. In this article we see the Hitachi SDT range of music centres, which back in 1979 were one of the best, with Hitachi often utilising their own technologies to maintain a lead in the consumer electronics market.
