The SEA-66 was a Stereo Graphic Equalizer with built-in 10-band spectrum analyser, manufactured by the JVC Corporation. It also required an optional MU-S80 microphone for room acoustics calibration. Here are some of its features:

  • 10-band real-time spectrum analyzer for frequency analysis
  • Built-in pink noise generator for room acoustics compensation
  • 3-deck connection with dubbing from 1 to 2/3, 2 to 1, 3 to 1.
  • Selectable ±12 dB / ±6 dB control range
  • S.E.A. defeat switch

Review

Although lower in the range than the SEA-M9, the SEA-66 had some wonderful features such as a bright display and LED-lit controls making it very attractive. The boost and cut was very prominent, and the electronic engineering very high quality.

The SEA-66 was a mid-range unit that is sometimes for sale in eBay. Audiophiles seek this unit even today and consequently it is a highly desirable collectable. In mint condition with its original box and manuals, it can fetch hundreds of pounds.
