JVC XL-V400
The XL-V400 (and XL-V400B in black finish) was a Compact Disk Player manufactured by the JVC Corporation of Japan. It came supplied with the RM-V400 remote control, and had some useful features such as a headphone socket and volume control. It had the following features.

- ISS (Independent Suspension System) to protect disc from shock, acoustic feedback and vibration and vibration
- "New Y Servo System" (High Balance Servo) to assure accurate tracking of any disc, even if scratched or smudged
- Digital filter and elaborate analogue circuits for better sound
- New disc support system for disc protection
- Random access programming of up to 15 tracks
- Remote control with 10-key pad for direct track access and programming
- 2-speed search, index search, introscan
- Repeat: all tracks, programmed tracks, and any segment between two points
- Index play, index skip and skip
- Headphone jack with volume control

JVC CD players are very desirable because they seem to last the test of time. Many of these older units are reliable and continue operating even today. A good working one in mint condition can sell for well over fifty pounds or more.
