My Friend Clifford...

Here is a picture of my friend Clifford, or Cliff as I called him, when he was fighting cancer. He was quite simply the best radio engineer I had ever come across, and he taught me all I know about valve radios. He too was one of those amazing mad scientist types always building valve radios with all sorts of exotic coils and valves. Cliff started his career with the RAF -- involved in all that top secret classified military stuff -- and in his retirement, he spent all his time building radios he always wanted to make but did not get the opportunity to whilst working.
