A Mass for Peace - Benedictus

A Mass for Peace – Benedictus is one of my favourite pieces of music. I just absolutely love this music. It is so brilliantly performed here. These are such simple beautiful Latin words that when translated have a clear meaning.

Hosanna comes from the Hebrew word Hoshanna, which approximates to "save". It is like a cry for help, expecting God to help immediately.

Translation

Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini.

Blessed who comes in the name of Lord.

Hosanna in excelsis.

Hosanna in the highest.
