Aa Chal Ke Tujhe English Translation

Aa Chal Ke Tujhe, which loosly translates in English to (Walk with Me...) is a song in the Hindi Language from the film Door Gagan Ki Chhaon Mein. The best version of this song will be heard in the record LP Kishor Kumar: Live at Los Angeles. This was at a time when his vocal talents were at its peak and he had that lovely warm voice full of resonance and timbre. I have never before or since heard anything better than that version. The title is the first part, of a sentence that approximates to walk with me and I will take you to such a place that exists... In the lyrics he then describes this place which is certainly not an earthly place, and most definitely sounds like paradise or heaven.

This song has some very subtle meanings that can be lost in the literal translation because in many ways the writer has to find words that work together. Consequently, ik aise gagan ke tale, literally translates colloquially to, under one such sky. However the writer really means such a place that exists.

There are other subtitles such as the repetition of the word laharaye to give an impression of continuity or never ending. The term, rang birangi panchi, is a wonderful description that can approximate to colourful of the most colourful, or colourful of the most multi-coloured. He uses this term to describe the birds (panchi), however when I was a child I always thought they were flying colourful angels. These are beautiful lyrics and if you read just the lines in English then it is almost poetry by itself.
