Khushi Nazia Hassan English Translation
Khushi translates to English as Happiness, and is the first word of the line, Khushi teri hai meri khushi, which means, Your happiness, is my happiness. It is a love song in Hindi and was sung by Nazia Hassan, and written by Amit Khanna, and found in the 1982 Star LP album. The music was composed and produced by Biddu, and engineered by Richard Dodd.
The song has very simple clean lyrics that are easy to understand, accompanied with simple 80s disco music, which still sounds fresh as it did then. With hindsight, we can say that it was the convergence of some of the biggest talents in the music industries, resulting in an amazing production that we can still enjoy today.

English Translation
Aaj tumse, kah rahi hoon,
Today, I am going to say,
jo kisi se nahin kaha.
that which I have never said to anyone (before).
Woh din, yaad hai hamein,
That day, I remember,
jis din tum ko mile.
the day I found you.
Phool ke tarah, hum khile,
Like a flower, I blossomed,
ho gaye dur ek gile,
we became distant, was one (big) mistake,
Khushi teri, hai meri khushi,
Your happiness, is my happiness,
tu he hai meri zindagi,
you are my (very) life,
jab se, tumko paya.
ever since, I got you.
Khushi teri hai meri khushi,
Your happiness, is my happiness,
sapnon mein hai teri chhabi,
(even) in my dreams I see your picture,
aur kya chahiye hum ko.
(and) what else would I (ever) want.
O sanam, hai kasam,
O dearest, I promise,
saath rahna, har janam.
(to) remain with you, in every life.
Pyar hi mera, ab dharam,
My love is still devotion (to you),
sach hi hai ye, nahin bharam...
that is the truth, not an illusion...
