Tere Zindagi Me Yu Toh Kayi Dard Aayege English Translation
Tere zindagi me yu toh kayi dard aayege, translates to English as, If any kind of sadness comes into your life... It was a Hindi song from the Bollywood film Star, and also the 1982 LP album by the same name. The lyrics were written by Indeevar and Amit Khanna, and sung by Zohib Hassan. The screenplay in the film was by Kumar Gaurav.
The lyrics provide a positive affirmation, and highlight the healing power of laughing or smiling. The song and its message is valid today as it was in the 80s. It reminds the listener or singer that the best thing to do when difficulties befall upon one is to keep smiling, and not to be overwhelmed by them. This is the type of song that should be taught in schools, or perhaps sung every morning before class. When one is young, everything is overwhelming. One often has to confront new challenges externally, and feelings internally. There are pressures to get the right grades, to get the right career, family issues, and financial issues. It is no wonder that the teenage suicide rate is so high in India and UK.
The backing music has a lovely disco beat, however, I was a huge AirWolf fan, and it always remind me of their theme music, except in this one there is the sitar accompaniment. Luckily, the sitar is completely on one side of the channel, so I usually turned that off, to make it sound similar. If Bollywood makes an Indian version of the Airwolf movie, then the backing music such as this with the sitar would go well. :-) The lyrics would work as well!

Tere zindagi me, yu toh kayi dard aayege,
If in your life, any kind of sadness comes,
agar muskurayega,
then just laugh,
agar muskurayega, to dard bhag jayenge.
and if you laugh, then the sadness will run away.
Har ghadi hai ek imtehan,
Every second is a test,
girke he sambhalte sab yahan,
everyone falls, and recovers again,
bahaduron ka hi, hai yeh jahan.
this world is for the brave.
Har ek haal men, kisi bhi chaal men,
In every situation, in any difficulty,
himmat na haar, aur muskuraye ja.
don’t lose courage, and keep laughing.
Mushkilon se haarna nahi,
Do not be defeated by difficulties,
yu zindagi guzar na nahi,
do not pass through life like this,
mun kabhi tum maar na nahi.
never let your soul be hurt like this.
Kisi bhi mod pe, koi saath chhod de,
On whichever turn, if anyone leaves you,
Himmat na haar, aur muskuraye ja.
Don’t lose courage, and keep laughing.
