The Emancipation Proclamation
Emancipation is the act of freeing or liberating. The "Emancipation Proclamation" was an executive order given by Abraham Lincoln to free all slaves including slaves trapped in states that were rebelling against the order.
Such an order is a direct order that the President who as the Commander in Chief can give to his Army and Navy. The power for this order comes from the President’s constitutional authority, and does not have to be passed by the ministers.
The proclamation was the first true step ever taken by any President, and the slaves were made free and integrated into the United States as free men, implying upon them full citizenship.
