JVC 4VN-990 -- JVC High Fidelity Cat 2

The 4VN-990 was a 4-channel integrated amplifier with quadraphonic matrix decoding capability manufactured by the JVC Corporation. It had built-in 4-channel SFCS matrix decoder for SQ and other sources. In addition it was equipped with 5-zone front/back S.E.A. graphic equalizer. It was 35-watts per channel (8 Ω loads) and had directly-coupled fully complementary OCL power amplifiers. It had four independent VU meters, and four level controls and was a lovely bit of electronic engineering that is very popular. It sometimes comes up for sale on eBay, and there is usually a huge bidding war even if it was not in a working condition.
