3x+2y=4 and 4x+3y=7
Here is a pair of simultaneous equations I was sent by email to solve. I am always happy to publish solutions, providing students visit the site for the answers.
3x+2y=4 and 4x+3y=7
Multiply the top equation by 3 throughout. Multiply the bottom equation by 4 throughout.
The 12x terms in both equations cancels out when you subtract the terms.
Substitute the value of y into the equation 3x+2y=4 to get a value for x.
