ANRS

ANRS (Automatic Noise Reduction System) was a development of the JVC Corporation. It was a type of noise reduction system utilising the principle of acoustic masking. It was a two-stage system consisting of the compressor block applied during recording, and expander block applied during playback. This article explains the main principles used in this system.
