Sanyo Sportster Mini Speaker System MSP-8
The MSP-8 mini speaker system was a pair of powered speakers manufactured by the Sanyo Corporation in Japan. This was an accessory for the Sportster range of Sanyo cassette players so that you could listen without headphones. Each speaker has its own power amplifier and battery compartment. It can take power from batteries or through a mains adapter.
Opening the battery compartment will take seconds for some, and for others, the rest of their natural lives. I simply pushed a two-penny coin to wedge open the battery compartment lid. In the photographs below, you can see the lid and the location of plastic tabs. I hope that this will make it easier to open it.
In my speakers, I found twenty-year-old batteries that had leaked and as a result, the battery compartment lid was stuck tight. This is a common problem as many people forget about the batteries.
