Sony Discman D-20 Broken Cogwheel Repair

The sled mechanism is responsible for positioning the platform onto which the laser assembly is mounted. In the Discman D-20, this mechanism consists of cogwheels driven by a DC motor. In this particular unit, there was a broken tooth in one of the cogwheels, and a familiar ticking noise occurring.
