Matsui PR37 Tuning Capacitor

The Matsui PR37 has a variable capacitor for tuning into signals. Tuning capacitors are hard to find these days and sometimes they cost more than the price of a new radio. Hence, an old broken radio is often a good source for parts if you are a radio enthusiast and like building your own radios.

I found some cheap tuning capacitors and ferrite rods on eBay. They are essential for crystal radio projects.

Ferrite Rod

This is the ferrite rod with the AM band coil. This reminds me very much of the 1980s pocket radios as their ferrite rods had the same shape.
