Smartphone Jack Wiring for JVC HA-SR625
Before discarding the broken wire, I decided to use my continuity meter to see how the Smartphone wiring was done, and in particular the pinout for the 4-contact jack plug. This might turn out to be useful if your headphones need re-wiring as well. As you can see, there are five wires going into the jack plug and the two copper coloured wires are common ground. The green and red wires are for the headphone drivers, leaving blue for the microphone and switch.
As you can see, the in-line remote has a small PCB with microphone and switch on one side and SMD diode and capacitor on the other side. Red, copper, and blue, coloured wires connect from the jack plug end, whilst the red and copper coloured wires connect to the driver.
