555 Timer MONOSTABLE Circuit and Equations
A monostable circuit, also known as a single-shot, and one-shot, and one-time, describes a device, which produces an output pulse of a predetermined interval after it receives a trigger pulse at its input. Boffins often also refer to it as a monostable multivibrator.
In monostable mode, the 555 timer behaves as a one-shot, where a trigger even at the input produces a single pulse at the output. The output pulse can be of any duration determined by the values of circuit components. This type of circuit works best in time delay applications.
Equations
They usually provide the formula to calculate the period T, however you will need to transpose it if you wish to find the value of resistor R, or capacitor C.
This formula will find the value of the capacitor.
This formula will find the value of the resistor.
