What is a Denshi Block?

Denshi Block is a Japanese invention, which loosely translates to "Electronic Block", consisting of a plastic cube shaped enclosure containing an electronic component. There are also metal terminals at the sides of these blocks, which make electrical connection with other blocks to facilitate the building of electronic circuits.

Interestingly, the blocks that come with the ST-45 are translucent, with spring clips at the sides to make electrical connections. Notice that the corners are concave to secure them between the plastic poles.
