Inside Look Bridge Challenger Electronics

PCB

Although there are not very many Bridge players these days, this electronic game has an interesting assortment of integrated circuits (IC) which would be useful if you were building or repairing vintage computers. If you were to be building a replica Sinclair ZX80 computer, then the UPD2114LC, and the Zilog Z80, ICs would be of interest.

The original Z80 CPU would be worth around seven pounds, and the vintage memory ICs are today very difficult to source.

Some of the chips used in this design include the following ICs.

NEC P05026-019

D8041C

NEC D8243C

UDN6118A-Z

NEC X96125-923

CD4049AE

DM7400N

DM7404N

DM7476N
