Satellit 2000 Power Supply Repair

The Grundig Satellite 2000 has a built-in mains transformer that could receive power from different domestic voltages; however, you need to set the mains selector switch to the correct position for your country. The switch positions are for 220 V – 240 V, and 110 V – 127 V.

If your radio is dead and not working, then perhaps the first places to check are the fuses. You should un-plug the device from the mains first when checking the fuses. There is the Si 1 (160 mA T) on the primary side of the transformer, and Si 2 (800 mA T) on the secondary side. If the fuses are fine, and you can measure 15.8 V DC coming out of the rectifier, then the fault might be more deeply hidden. If you are not an electronic engineer then it is perhaps best to sell it on eBay and let someone qualified look at it.
