Aiwa HS-TX303 Service Manual
The HS-TX303 was a stereo radio cassette player manufactured in 1989 by the Aiwa Corporation of Japan. The tuner had AM and FM band reception, and the audio output was 10 mW (EIAJ) per channel through 32-Ω voice coils. For the power supply, it requires a pair of AAA size batteries. In this service manual you can see the specifications, circuit diagram, and disassembly information.
This was a high-end unit packed with a plethora of functions for the audiophile. These units are not seen often for sale at the auction site; however one in mint condition together with its box and accessories is very collectable. In this design they use the 3-phase disc motor with the NJM2613 integrated circuit (IC), resulting in wonderfully smooth speed. For the Dolby noise reduction they use the BA1102FS IC, which sounds great with a good pair of headphones. This unit also has a very advanced head, and the greatly improved alpha minus two (α-2) mechanism.
