Aiwa LX-70 Service Manual

Service Manual

The LX-70 was a linear tracking stereo turntable manufactured in 1983 by the Aiwa Corporation. It had a VM type cartridge and 0.6-mil diamond stylus. The mechanism was 2-speed, with 4-phase 8-pole linear torque DD motor.

Linear tracking turntables are extremely desirable and when they come up for sale there is usually a huge amount of interest. This Aiwa one has high quality design and a unit in mint condition and good working order could fetch a tidy sum on a good auction day. In this unit, the turntable motor is direct-drive type; however there are two small additional motors with drive belts. Replacing these belts can be time-consuming; hence a unit in good working order is usually worth more.
