Hitachi HT-07 and HT-17 Service Manual
The HT-07 and HT-17 were turntables manufactured by the Hitachi Corporation in 1985. They have a 2-speed belt-drive mechanism with DC servo motor. The supplied cartridge was MT-14, which had a DS-ST12 diamond stylus. The principal difference between the two turntables was that the HT-07 required 11 V AC (100 mA) from a Hitachi amplifier, whilst the HT-17 had a dedicated built-in mains power supply.
These early Japanese turntables are highly desirable when they come up for sale in the pre-used auction markets. Their performance and sound quality is excellent and the drive belt is fairly easy to replace. This service manual shows how to replace the belt and cartridge, in addition to the basic servicing requirements.
