JVC AL-E500 Service Manual
The AL-E500 (also known as AL-E500BK) was a fully automatic turntable manufactured in 1988 by the JVC Corporation. It has a 2-speed belt-drive mechanism with DC servomotor. It usually came equipped with the MD 1062 moving magnet cartridge that has a wonderfully wide frequency response of 10 Hz to 26 kHz. The stylus is DT-62, which has a 0.6-mil conical diamond tip.
This is a highly desirable model simply for the fact that it is fully automatic, and the sound quality of the cartridge is excellent. In mint condition with its original box, accessories, and packing would be worth well over a hundred pounds on a good day. It also has a built-in power transformer and therefore does not rely on receiving power from the main hi-fi unit.
