JVC L-E3 Service Manual
The L-E3 is a linear tracking fully automatic turntable manufactured by the JVC Corporation in 1982. It has a direct drive system with FG servo motor providing an wow-and-flutter figure of 0.03 % (wrms). The cartridge (MD-1044) is a low-mass moving magnet (MM) type, and the stylus is DT-37 with 0.6-mil diamond tip. Its dimensions are 11.4 cm × 34 cm × 35.8 cm, and mass 5.4 kg.
Fully automatic linear turntables are extremely desirable and this was a lovely bit of engineering from JVC that many will still have. In order to achieve the high level of automation required, they had to use the µPD554-096 microcontroller which takes all the mundane work away from the user. These units are still highly desirable in the perused markets and command a high price when for sale.
