Gold CD Picture Disc

There are two pages (four sides) listing all the awards he has received from 1970 to 1994. He had received Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Black Gold Awards, American Cinema Awards, MTV Awards, and British TV Industry Awards. Forbes Magazine listed him as the No.1 Entertainer of the year. Vanity Fair declared him The Most Popular Artist in the History of Show Business. In 1984, he received The Presidential Award, presented by Ronald Reagan. These are just some of the awards he received because the list is endless and very impressive. It is without doubt that his success was meteoric and unprecedented, and consequently many people, were envious of him. In particular, the gutter tabloid press usually focused on negativity, and many sites including Wiki still place focus there instead of the success and talent that this man very clearly demonstrated.

Review

Track List

I bought this CD because I particularly loved the song, You Are Not Alone (CD 2 track 9), which is that sad song where he does that crying-hiccup sound, and I thought he brought much soul to the lyrics. I also liked Man in the Mirror (CD 1, track 8), which has extremely meaningful lyrics, and usually has a profound effect on (some) people when they hear it.

I also remembered that controversial song They Don’t Care About Us (CD 2, track 2), which I thought was a protest-type song. It has a fast beat, where he mentions the Emancipation Proclamation, Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King. In many ways, Michael was able to express in song the frustration that black people felt due to prejudice and discrimination. This song is still very much valid today in Trump’s America, as it was then.

When the sound engineers produced this CD, they went to extreme lengths to ensure that you hear the highest possible sound quality. With this CD, one can easily detect an underperforming hi-fi system, due to the very powerful bass and sound effects the music contains. I therefore prefer listening to the CD than a downloaded ZIP file with poor quality compressed MP3 audio. Besides, you also get a nice booklet as well that you can read whilst listening to the music.

Price/eBay

This CD album is usually for sale on auction sites and the price can vary depending upon condition. A complete album in good condition can go for a few pounds, which is extremely good value as you get to listen to an ultimate collection of some of his best work. The gold CD picture disc is highly collectable and the prices can go higher for a mint condition CD set.
