Harman Kardon SoundSticks Volume Control IC

The Harman/Kardon SoundSticks II have touch-button volume controls in one of the satellite speaker enclosures; however the circuit for it is situated in the subwoofer enclosure and uses the PT2256 IC manufactured by the Princeton Technology Corp. It is an electronic volume controller IC that controls both channels of the stereo input signal. An advantage of this IC is that it occupies very little space, since switch contacts would not need as much space as a mechanical potentiometers.
