SP110 DAB Tuner Connections

For a proper antenna connection, you will need a male F connector and coaxial cable. As you can see, this connection type has a thread, and is the type usually found in satellite installations. For the antenna, ideally you should use a vertical dipole aerial, which is omnidirectional and can detect signals from every direction. My friend Rufus made a dipole aerial using copper pipes, and he can get a huge number of stations.

Many lay people and "professionals" simply connect it to a TV aerial and then complain for the lack of stations or sound quality. The reason why this happens is that TV aerials are based on the Yagi-Uda designs, which are directional. Therefore, in order to receive a certain station or the best signal for a particular station, the aerial would require pointing towards its multiplex transmitter.

Optical Audio Connection

Analogue and Digital Connections

Many audiophiles are familiar using the analogue audio outputs through the RCA sockets, however if you have never used an optical connection, then this is the best time to try. For this connection, you will require a TOSLINK cable, and an amplifier that has a compatible optical input for audio. A huge number of modern surround sound systems have such an optical interface.
