LA4581M Audio IC

The LA4581M integrated circuit (IC) manufactured by the Sanyo Corporation provides the main amplifier building blocks for this Walkman. This is a 3 V stereo IC which contains the preamplifiers and headphone power amplifiers, and was intended for players with an auto reverse system.

This IC reduces the component count considerably as it does not require input / output coupling capacitors. This together with low power consumption makes it an ideal component for battery powered portable applications.
