Sony STR-DB2000 Power Supply Board

The Sony STR-DB2000 uses switched-mode power supply circuitry to power the digital amplifiers and subsystems, hence there is no large conventional transformer of the type usually employed in analogue amplifier systems. The designers have tried to place much of the circuitry on the side PCB; however, the voltage regulators are on the top with the large heatsink assembly. The power supply is one of the most complex parts of this amplifier and not fully shown in the service manual, however a qualified and experienced engineer can usually identify the basic components in such circuits.
