Acoustic Solutions SP103 Electronic Engineering

Inside View

The Acoustic Solutions SP103 has an interesting build quality because they spray-painted the chassis inside and outside, which is unusual for amplifiers, but nice. The circuit boards and components are average quality though, and they used plenty of glue everywhere to secure the wires, screws, and capacitors.

The component layout of the power amplifier board could have been better as two of the voltage regulators (REG1 and REG2) nearly made it close to the heatsink, but not close enough, whilst only REG1 connects to the heatsink. Considering how hot these regulators get, it might be a good modification project to attach them to a separate heatsink. Overall, I thought it was a very cheap and cheerful build, and that is all it has to be to work for a few years.
