Eltax AVR-200 Repair

The Eltax AVR-200 requires a qualified and experienced engineer to repair it. Replacing the TDA2030A power amplifier IC requires removal of the main board to gain access to the underneath for desoldering. Unfortunately, one first has to remove the surround sound decoder board in order to gain access to the screws that secures the main board. In this repair, I had to remove two of the power amplifier ICs;however, I had to take the whole amplifier apart just to gain access for soldering. Although the job was simple, it was very time consuming.

There is a very nice and clear circuit diagram in the service manual for this amplifier, and since the audio power output ICs are readily and cheaply available, it should be very cost-effective to repair this amplifier.

As you can see, it has this long aluminium heatsink block to which all the audio power output ICs attach.
