KR-V6050 Power Supply

The power supply is a very simple and elegant design utilising a conventional shielded transformer. There is also another smaller transformer for the standby circuitry.

The standby board has a relay, which switches the mains power to the main transformer. The switched power from the relay also feeds two other power sockets situated at the back of the amplifier to control other Kenwood compatible equipment.

This transformer is heavy because it has a shield. You will find shielded transformers in some of the best quality amplifiers.
