Canon AT-1 Jammed Shutter

The Canon AT-1 usually does not suffer from shutter problems because it is largely a mechanical design, with minimal electronics. If the film advance lever and shutter appear stuck, then the battery is the first component to check. This camera has an electronic shutter, and therefore still requires sufficient electrical power to operate. The manufacturers have intelligently incorporated a battery check function so the meter displays the charge left in the battery.

There is a low voltage lockout circuit, which prevents the shutter from releasing when the power supply is less than five volts.
