Canon T50 Motor Not Working

Base Plate

To gain access to the Canon T50 motor, undo the three screws, which secures the winding base plate.


Cogwheels

Removing the metal plate reveals these cogwheels.

If you forget how these cogwheels go together then this image will help you to assemble.

Removing the Cogwheels

Here, you can see the motor shaft and the two screws, which secures the motor. You will need to undo the two screws.

This plastic section then comes out.

Motor Mounting

Here is the motor, which will not come out easily, as its terminals bond to a flex circuit located in the top section of the camera. In the following pages of this multi-page article, I will show where to desolder the terminals so you can then pull the motor out.

Removing the Motor

After desoldering the motor terminals, it simply pulls out.
