MP3 Player Module -- 5807 Tuner IC

The 5807MP (also known as 5807) is a single-chip FM tuner solution that has been available since 2009. This lovely little IC has everything that a conventional FM tuner requires, including, mixer, oscillator, and MPX decoder. It simply requires connecting to a microcontroller to make a fully realised system.

Looking at the block diagram, we can see that it uses the low-IF architecture to cover 76 MHz to 108 MHz of the FM band. It has a built-in synthesizer for generating the local oscillator, and a quadrature mixer which down converts the signal to low-IF. For the power supply, it has a built-in LDO that can accept voltages in the range 2.7 V to 5.5 V.
