Philips D1720 inside View

Looking at the inside of the Philips D1720, we can see a high-density layout of the components. The height of the variable capacitor very much determines the thickness of this design. It is a lovely compact construction.

In this one, the battery acid had dissolved the metal battery terminals, and I had to make and fit replacements. A large number of tracks on the reverse side had also dissolved, however I was able to solder wires to get the AM radio working.
