TA7642 AM Radio Baseboard Construction

If you have been following The Little Whippersnapper's Crystal Radio project, then in this build, you will notice that the baseboard is almost the same. Therefore, you should look at that article first, as it has information on how to install the brass screws, and the screw cup system.

This project does not require an LT700 transformer; hence, the screws and their cups are optional. In this design, there is an additional screw and cup between the 2-inch gaps near the ferrite rod terminals.

The Screw Cup System

I just love the screw cup system of construction. Whoever invented this should receive a congressional medal of honour, or whatever the pomposity is these days. If you give a fish to a Brit; he will have fish for supper and complain. However, if you put a screwdriver in his hands, then suddenly he becomes Fred Dibnah... It just goes to show that we Brits were born to invent. It is a shame that there is no help from the government.
