7 Segment Display Pinout

The 7-segment display pinout is almost the same for both the common cathode type and common anode type. The differences are in pin 8 and pin 3 that you must pay attention to. The most commonly used display has 0.36-inch high digits. The total dimensions of the package are 14 mm × 7.5 mm.

Common Cathode

For the common cathode display, pin 8 and pin 3 connect to ground.

Common Anode

For the common anode type, pin 8 and pin 3 connect to the positive voltage rail.
