TC-152SD Cassette Deck

A useful feature of the TC-152SD was that the lid to the cassette compartment was removable. The cassette lid comes off by gently pulling it and moving the lid beyond the natural stop point of the hinge. This is very useful when one needs to clean the heads and the pinch roller, because it provides more access.

Here is the lid to the cassette compartment. I have to admit that I still have not seen anything like this elsewhere. It is ingenious.

Erase Head

Here is the erase head, which also requires cleaning periodically.

Servo Controlled Motor

Here is the servo-controlled motor, which fixes to a die-cast alloy chassis. It is robust and continues to operate even today.
