Robotic Arm with USB PC Interface Gripper Design
The end effector design consists of two pincers, which can widen by 1.77-inches. Industrial systems usually have a sensor, which measures the force the pincers are applying and the motor power cuts at a specific programmed amount. During this time, the gears remain locked to maintain the force. However, this kit lacks this type of sensor and consequently, the motor continues to rotate causing the worm screw and worm wheel to jump and make a clicking sound.
In the gripper gearbox, the motor drives the worm screw which then drives the worm wheel, which is the brown coloured wheel (P5).
