Trackability is the ability of a stylus to maintain contact with the record groove at all times, and therefore it is the total measure of a cartridge’s performance. It involves designing a stylus tip that follows the record groove beyond the theoretical cutting limits of modern recording, and across the entire audible spectrum, with light tracking forces.
