Sony PS-LX40P Drive Belt Replacement

Fitting the drive belt for PS-LX300H, PS-LX350H, PS-LX40P, PS-LX43, or PS-LX43P turntables is simple and involves removing the retaining clip on the spindle, which releases the turntable platter giving access to the drive belt underneath.

Start by fitting the drive belt to the underside of the platter, which will have a raised extrusion.

Then fit the platter back onto the spindle

Use the access hatch to pull the drive belt over the motor pulley.

Belt sizes and shapes are fairly standardised and you will find that many turntables share the same type of replacement belt. For example, PS-LX300H, PS-LX350H, PS-LX40P, PS-LX43, and PS-LX43P use the same replacement belt. Usually, a generic belt may cost much less that one specified by model name and Sony part number 4-880-655-01. Online shops usually keep assortments of generic belts, and if you can find one that is the correct thickness and circumference, then it has a good chance of working.
