Alba CCP1 inside Look
The Alba CCP1 has a very neat construction, which is well designed and manufactured. The printed circuit board (PCB) artwork is excellent and there are signs of automation, with just the wires requiring soldering by hand.
The audio IC is in a SOP package on the printed side, whilst the radio IC is in a PDIP package on the component side.
The designer cleverly situated the motor close to the capstan flywheel, thereby requiring a small drive belt. Cleaning and replacing the drive belt is easy on this player as there is plenty of access.
This is a great and affordable product by Alba.
Belt Drive
Here you can see the motor pulley connected to a capstan flywheel by a drive belt. The flywheel is a composite made of a metal part and a plastic part, and the drive belt goes around the plastic pulley.
