Sanyo M3330 Tape Transport
The Sanyo M3330 stereo cassette player has a lovely metal chassis with the tape transport mechanism. There is a nice flat pinch roller and large capstan capable of pulling the tape at a steady speed. I did not notice any design flaws here and it all works extremely well even today.
Tape Path
I just love products like these, because I can take them apart and study them for hours, as it is full of innovations. I am sure design and engineering students will find many insights from these photographs.
Audio Head
This is the audio head. It appears to be in a good condition and should last many more years.
Sanyo was an organisation that designed new products as well as better components, and consequently their products worked extremely well.
Head Terminals
Sanyo also made a recording version of this cassette player; however, they used the same head in both versions. This head appears to have the ability to record; however in this application, it is used for playback only.
