Sony Walkman Servicing

Cleaning the PCB

The Sony WM-EX612 is a vintage Japanese product and as such, it has some value since these Walkmans are no longer in production. It was a unique product in a unique time of consumer electronics history. I had to remove the complete PCB and clean it with a number of solutions. The transport mechanism required cleaning as well.

Drive Belt

Drive Belt

It is possible to buy generic belt drives, which are cheaper, and if the belt is the correct length and thickness, then it may work. See the Walkman Drive Belt article for more information.
