Sanyo M-G12 Sportster
The M-G12 was a stereo cassette player and a part of the "Sportster" range of portable audio manufactured by the Sanyo Corporation, in the early 80s, in Japan. It has some good points going for it such as decent sound with plenty of bass and treble providing you use a good pair of headphones. It has play, fast-forward, and rewind tape controls. It also has balance and volume level controls to the side.
This unit requires four "AA" size batteries that will last approximately three hours depending upon the volume level you use.
Cost/eBay
Sanyo cassette players are highly collectable as many people will remember owning one and enjoying music in high quality sound. The red version tends to be much more popular amongst collectors. This is a basic budget-end player, which saw mass-production for a global market. It has some good points going for it such as the manufacturing origin being Japan, and a nice clear sound. In the pre-used market, you can expect to find scratches to the silver paintwork, and crackling volume and balance controls. The player on its own in used condition might fetch ten pounds, however a unit together with the original headphones, protection cover, manuals, and original box, could fetch considerably more.
